Let's Do Something Good Today

I come on here and I brag about my gambling wins, sigh happily about Europe, recommend books, and bitch about people in New York and traffic tickets. So, for a change, I thought we could all do something good today:

http://www.humane.net/

Click on this link, and you will be brought to several "buttons" which can be clicked to feed the hungry (a click will warrant about a cup of food) or save the rainforest (a click here will help save 11.4 square feet of rainforest). Click one or three or all of them, and then we can all feel like we did a little something good today.

Then go back again tomorrow and do it again.

this site confuses me. granted, i didn't read much about it. but if you click for a free donation, why don't they just give all the money away in the first place? holding back and waiting for people to click a button for the donation to be made delays the time for the food to get there. where does the money even come from?

the idea is great (making peeps feel like they are actively helping by clicking a button), i'm just concerned that someone could die because i didn't click, even though the money was there.

or maybe the painkillers are just making me dumber :P
